Can oven mitts go in the washing machine?

Most cotton and fabric oven mitts are machine washable check the label. Wash on warm with regular detergent and tumble dry low. Silicone mitts with cotton lining can usually be machine washed too, but check the manufacturer's instructions. Pure silicone mitts and pot holders can be washed in the dishwasher or with soap and water by hand.
