What workout gear should I skip as a beginner?

Skip anything heavy, expensive, or specialized until you have built a consistent habit (at least 3 months). That means no adjustable dumbbells (+), no pull up bars (until you can do modified pull ups), no massage guns (a foam roller works fine for recovery), and no smart fitness trackers. Start with bodyweight exercises and basic gear. Upgrade when your current equipment becomes the limiting factor not before.
