What switch type should I choose for my first mechanical keyboard?

For most beginners, linear (Red) switches are the safest choice they are smooth, quiet, and good for both typing and gaming. Tactile (Brown) switches add a small bump at the actuation point that helps touch typists know a key registered. Clicky (Blue) switches are the loudest, with an audible click fun to type on, but not suitable for offices or shared spaces. If your keyboard is hot swappable, you can try all three and decide later.
