What's the difference between a tilt head and bowl lift stand mixer?
Tilt head mixers have a hinged head that tilts back for easy bowl access great for adding ingredients and scraping. Bowl lift mixers use a lever to raise and lower the bowl, keeping the head stationary. Bowl lift designs are generally more stable for heavy doughs and larger capacities. For most home bakers, tilt head is more convenient. For serious bread bakers or large batch baking, bowl lift is more practical.
