What material is best for mixing bowls?
Stainless steel is the most versatile lightweight, durable, non reactive, and dishwasher safe. Glass (Pyrex) is best if you need microwave/oven capability and storage with lids. Ceramic is ideal for bread baking and serving. Plastic/melamine is lightest but can stain and absorb odors. For a primary set, stainless steel is the safest choice for most kitchens.
