Should I use metal or plastic measuring cups?

For dry ingredients (flour, sugar, spices), stainless steel cups are the best choice they're more durable, hold their shape for accurate scooping, won't stain or absorb odors, and last essentially forever. For liquid ingredients, a clear glass or plastic cup with measurement markings is better because you need to see the liquid level from the side. Most well equipped kitchens have both types.
