Should I choose Wi Fi, Zigbee, or Thread smart plugs?

For most people, Wi Fi is the easiest no extra hub needed, just plug in and connect through an app. Zigbee is better for large smart home setups (20+ devices) because it does not congest your Wi Fi and creates a self healing mesh network, but it requires a Zigbee hub. Thread is the newest option with the best latency and reliability, but device selection is still limited. If you are just starting out, Wi Fi is the right choice. If you already have a smart home hub, Zigbee or Thread offers long term advantages.
